Bringing The “Human” Into Human Labor

Human labor is perhaps amongst the greatest resources available to the world today. Even with modern technology and all of its efficiencies, human labor is the only resource that has the potential for the most valuable of assets to humanity: innovation.

The constant progress and introduction of new commodities and ideas are all the result of innovation. Innovation varies from subtle variances in method, that results in great achievements. Innovation could take the form of an idea that takes flight, a better method of going something, or a new discovery or invention.

A quick glance around, and every building erected, every car that moves past, to the small screws that hold my door knob in place – these things were all innovated by someone, after generations and generations of ideas. Innovation goes beyond, to give us a deeper sense of adventure and wonder as we trek around the globe, explore the depths of the ocean, or maneuver crampons and ice ax to the top of a mountain. You no longer have to commit an entire day to scavenging for the meal that will keep you alive that day. As a result of of innovation we are able to experience humanity in so many wonderful ways. Simply put, innovation is the key to experiencing humanity in new and wonderful ways – and it is human labor, through innovation, that over the centuries has afforded that experience.

If human labor is capable of so much, then why is there so much shame affiliated with it? Why do we instead commonly hear of children being worked in horrific conditions, and slavery being alive in this day and age? What if the dishonor affiliated with human labor were changed, and instead it was nurtured into becoming the innovation generator it can be? I bet we might witness a great shift in things such as productivity and resources. How would such an event shift the advancement of technology, prices, and world economics?

If we rewarded innovation with fair compensation, it is likely that people would be more inspired to innovate more, thus creating an abundance of resources and options.

In my research, I finally came across an organization called NXIVM that seems to inspire these ideas through different programs. NXIVM’s mission, the resources and training it offers, and what it is motivating in humanity is… well, perhaps one of the most innovative things humanity has seen in a while. What it seems to offer in terms of perspective is very original, as it seems to have the potential to create a much-needed, positive change in the world.
